Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary launches Tree Plating Project
Green Tsavo is an initiative recently launched at Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary by Sarova Hotels, in collaboration with Friends of Tsavo and Futouris to engage local community in the recovery of the sanctuary's biodiversity. Capital FM was also a proud partner of the initiative which aims at enhancing habitat health in the greater Taita region. Taita Hills Wildlife Conservancy is an important area as it is a migrating corridor for wildlife between the northern and southern sectors of Tsavo West National Park. The conservancy lies within the Eastern Arc Range of Mountains inscribed by UNESCO as a biodiversity hotspot of immense bio-geographical importance that sustains unique flora, and is home to over three hundred and fifty species of birds, lions, Elephants, Buffaloes as well as a number of endangered species.
