Makutano Conference Centre
Makutano is a Swahili word meaning ‘Meeting Place’. It is an enormous amphitheatre that has the
capacity to seat three hundred and thirty people. It is also equipped with its own secretariat and
rest rooms.
Baraza Conference Room
Baraza comes from a Swahili word meaning a ‘discussion or gathering’. The conference room
has a combined capacity of four hundred people. It can be separated into Baraza I, Baraza II and
Baraza III, each with seating capacities ranging from one hundred to two hundred persons. It is
equipped with its own secretariat and rest rooms.
Fahari Conference Room
It has a seating capacity of up to two hundred and forty people and is equipped with a secretariat
and rest rooms.

Board Room
The Board Room at Sarova Whitesands has a seating capacity of up to 20 people in theatre style. Facilities available include flip charts,
wireless connectivity, LCD and slide projectors.

OUTDOOR LAWNS
The resort has a number of outdoor spaces that serve as ideal venues for private parties,
receptions, cocktails, press events, photo shoots or any other type of event for up o 1000
people, where you want to enjoy the sea-breeze and swaying palms.
Beach Lawns
The beach lawns overlook the Indian Ocean presenting an incredible back drop to any event. The
lawns can host over 1000 people with a round tables set up, perfect for that corporate event,
weddings and receptions.

Masinde Lawns
These lawns give your event an intimate touch. Located away from the rest of the resort, the grounds are sheltered by swaying palm
trees in a location that is serene with the warmth of the Indian Ocean breeze.
African Village
This unique location offers an exciting theme to any event. Laid out as an African Village featuring traditional huts enjoy your event in an
authentic African atmosphere. If desired, the village comes alive by incorporating local artisans and colorfully attired dancers. Learn the
local language, a dance as well as local crafts, key components of the African culture.
