Shopping at the Resort
African Market
A cultural market is set up twice each week at the African village within the resort. This is an
opportunity to view and purchase cultural African mementoes as well as learn a few words of
Swahili, the language of the local people.
Pepeo Curios Shop
The shop has a wide range of interesting and unusual curios for sale.
La Perla Boutique
This boutique is located in the lobby selling African themed items such as clothing and jewellery.
Cloud Nine
This is a fully stocked convenience store. It has also stocks some African curios and ornaments for
sale.

Shopping in Mombasa
Bombolulu Workshops
The Bombolulu workshops are located along the north coast of Mombasa. It is a project of the Association for the Physically Disabled in
Kenya (APDK). The workshops consist of a Cultural Centre with 8 traditional homesteads. The Centre employs 150-disabled
craftsmen/women who produce jewellery, hand printed textiles, wood carvings and leather crafts. The products are sold in a large
showroom and exported to 20 countries.
The City Market
Experience the atmosphere of a typical Kenyan vegetable market. You can also find hand made African baskets known in Kenya as
kiondos and many other souvenirs. This is open daily from 6am to 7pm.
The Floating Market.
True to its name, this is a market in a boat floating on the Indian Ocean. The market was created in 1988 in the Jomvu Kuu area in the Tudor
Creek. The market has its humble beginnings in a poor village Maunguja. The Market creates a way for visitors to Kenya to interact and
purchase goods from the locals, and creates much needed jobs in the local community.
Shopping Mall (Nakumatt Nyali)
Nakumatt shopping mall contains a variety of convenient stores, snack and food joints, chemists, ice cream parlors, boutiques and
various Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) etc.
