Poolside

Perched amongst trees with view over the National Park our poolside is a wonderful place to enjoy the afternoon sun between games drives.

Cultural Performances

Traditional dancers perform on our terrace every evening at the Rift Valley Bar and a guitarist plays favourites at the restaurant and bar during and after dinner.

Bird Watching

Lake Nakuru is an ornithologist's paradise with over 400 recorded species of birds. Around the lake one can find flamingos, a wide range of waders including avocet, while large rafts of pelicans can also be seen sweeping the water in unison.

Visit to Baboon Cliff

The Baboon Cliff is located on one of the highest points on the hills surrounding the lake with stunning views and a picnic site where visitors can get off and enjoy the scenery.

Visit the Menengai Crater

Located on the northern side of Nakuru visit one of the largest surviving volcanic craters in the world. An extinct volcano offering striking views of Lake Nakuru, Lake Bogoria and the crater itself.

Rhino Sanctuary

The park is a sanctuary to the highly-endangered black Rhino and abounds with other game such as buffalos, lions and the elusive leopard.

Visit The Makalia Falls

For the adventure seekers, the splendid Makalia Falls are a must-visit. This can be seasonal and the area of the falls is surrounded by incredible rock structures.

Walking Boots

On Ocassion your safari can include bush walks where you will walk with your ranger and tracker by foot looking for animals and learning about the smaller things on Safari like the plants and insects, boots are a must for this. You never know what you might find on Safari.

Camera

What's a Safari without taking a couple of pictures to share with your friends and family and to reminisce over long after your trip? These days most phones have pretty good cameras so this would work too.

Favourable Clothes

You need shorts and t-shirts or light trousers for the daytime. Neutral tones like beige, khaki, stone and brown don't show the dirt and dust that you will be exposed to while on Safari.

Wide Brimmed Hat

This is to shade you from the sun - this should have straps because when standing in the van or jeep it could be blown off.

A Pair Of Binoculars

Often the animals are far away and if they aren't a Big Five animal, your guide most likely won't be able to go off-roading to get closer so the binoculars will definitely come in handy. Also there are some amazing birds that you will see on safari and you are going to want some binoculars to get a closer view of them.

Always carry insect repellent and sun protection spray or cream.
