IN THE CITY
Giraffe Centre
Get close up and personal with the giraffes. Hand feeding these magnificent creatures is a unique experience. The Giraffe Centre is open Monday to Sunday, 9am to 5.30pm.
National Museum
The National Museum boasts a fascinating range of cultural and natural history exhibits. There are huge galleries of wildlife, Kenyan tribal culture, re-creations of rock art and an exhibition of hominid fossils. The National Museum opening hours are Monday to Sunday, 9.30am to 6pm.
Karen Blixen Museum
This museum is the original farmhouse where the writer Karen Blixen (author of Out Of Africa) lived between 1914 and 1931. It is set in lovely gardens and is a famous piece of Nairobi's cultural history. The Museum opening hours are Monday to Sunday, between 9.30am and 6pm.
David Sheldrick Animal Trust
At Sheldrick's you'll see young orphaned African animals being reared in as close to their natural environment as possible. Elephant feeding and petting is a wonderful experience. The trust is only open to the public for one hour each day, between 11am and 12 noon.
Nairobi National Park
Safari in the city. Nairobi National Park is the only national park to border a city of this size. It is 113 square kilometers of plains, cliffs and forest, home to large herds of Zebra, Wildebeest, Buffalo, Giraffe, Rhino, Cheetah, and Lions, living wild within 20 minutes of the centre of town. The park is open for visitors between 9am and 5pm, seven days per week.
Bomas of Kenya
This is a cultural village where through architecture, crafts, music and dance this village serves to preserve and display traditional Kenyan culture. Visiting hours are 2.30pm - 4.30pm Monday to Friday, and 3.30pm -5.20pm on weekends.
Railway Museum
Take a wander into the past and view the beautifully kept engines and carriages from the colonial days of the East Africa Railways. There are also fascinating displays of extraordinary railway memorabilia and artifacts. Opening hours are 8.15am to 6pm, Monday to Sunday.
National Archives
The National Archives is a reservoir and living example of historical and cultural knowledge. View the extensive collection of artefacts, photographs and publications documenting Kenya's diverse and rich history. Opening hours are 9am - 4pm Monday to Friday, and 9am - 11am on Saturdays.
Golf
The concierge can assist to arrange access for guests of the hotel at special golfing membership clubs.
HELPFUL TIPS
Getting Around Nairobi Central Business District
Walking around the CBD is fairly easy as the city center is small and accessible. However, there are areas that are fairly unsafe and we do not recommend you walk in this areas at night from 7:00 pm. Please seek the advise of the hotel concierge on which areas to visit during the day and how to navigate at night time.
Shopping in Nairobi
Nairobi is one of the most spectacular shopping hubs in East Africa ideal for buying African curios, souvenirs, traditional fabrics, pottery, rugs & bags. Some shopping places of note include the Village Market, Maasai (popup) Market, City Market, Sarit Centre, Westgate Mall, Yaya Centre, Garden City Mall, among others.
Taxis
Pan Cab taxis are 24-hour, reliable taxis that can easily be hailed on your behalf from the concierge desk. A negotiated price can be agreed upon before departure. Several ride hailing apps are also available with the most reliable being Uber.

Nairobi City comes alive at night with a thriving club scene that's undoubtedly the best in East Africa. Subsequently, a plethora of casinos, pubs & night clubs with renowned DJ's playing the best of local & international hits are available every few blocks.
